There are some of the most selfless and kind people working at the Pike County Animal Shelter. Although it got a bit of bad press awhile back, the most important thing is the little furry ones that need homes. I dare you to go to the shelter and not fall in love. It's happened to me, twice (technically six times if you count the mother cat and three babies I fostered).
If you can and have room, please consider adopting an animal or fostering a little animal family. You'll never regret all the purrs, licks, and looks of adoration.
