I really like the Heathman Lodge, which bills itself as a "luxury hotel." I'm not sure I agree with that assessment, but I recommend it to visiting friends and family. It reminds me of ski lodges I've stayed at--there's definitely a rustic feel to it (I mean that in a good way). There's a giant fireplace in the lobby, which is lovely and inviting in the winter, and it's not part of a chain, so there's an air of personal service and room decoration absent from so many hotels. The furniture is made of real oak. Suites have free high speed Internet access and gas fireplaces. A fitness center and pool/spa are on site. The restaurant, Hudson's, is very good for local, gourmet food and drinks.
