Heathman Lodge 4/10/2006

We stayed at the Heathman Lodge for a couple of nights during our honeymoon. We were in the "Lovers Suite". There were 3 Tvs in our room, a nice big jacuzzi tub, fridge, and pretty much everything else. I didn't especially like the decor-I don't find the rugged look that romantic when you're just in Vancouver, WA. I like the wooden balconies, but it's not like there's that great of a view. I think that our room had bathrobes in it too (it's been 5 years). I would recommend it, but maybe not for a wedding night. more

Excellent Local Hotel 10/17/2005

The Heathman is a fabulous hotel hidden behind a local mall. It's definitely one of the top hotels in Vancouver, and while it's not top of the line luxury, it's still a very nice place to stay. The lodge style is charming, but not too rustic. The hotel rooms are also lodge style and very pleasant. The prices are generally higher than in other area hotels, but it is also better service and a better kept room. You can find "internet specials" from time to time on their website that significantly discount the cost of a room. The lobby is a perfect place for meeting people, with its enormous fireplace and comfortable chairs. There are meeting rooms available for rental downstairs that are also quite nice. And the restaurant, Hudson's, is award-winning and worth the extra money you'll spend to enjoy a meal there. This is definitely our fallback hotel: the kind of place you can comfortably send your in-laws and relatives, knowing that they'll be well cared for. And if you go, you'll be well cared for too. more

Big rooms, nice views! 8/9/2005

We stayed here for two nights after we got married, and it was perfect. The rooms and bed were huge and the view was beautiful! They found out that we had just gotten married, and treated us so well. It is a "lodge" theme, so the bed has "log cabin" type bedposts. We also ate there and the food was delicious. We got our rooms for a great price by booking online! more

Nice but not fancy 7/21/2005

I really like the Heathman Lodge, which bills itself as a "luxury hotel." I'm not sure I agree with that assessment, but I recommend it to visiting friends and family. It reminds me of ski lodges I've stayed at--there's definitely a rustic feel to it (I mean that in a good way). There's a giant fireplace in the lobby, which is lovely and inviting in the winter, and it's not part of a chain, so there's an air of personal service and room decoration absent from so many hotels. The furniture is made of real oak. Suites have free high speed Internet access and gas fireplaces. A fitness center and pool/spa are on site. The restaurant, Hudson's, is very good for local, gourmet food and drinks. more

    The local mall may be closer than the nearest ski slope, but visitors to this large lodge wouldn't know it to look at it. The place has all the trappings of a snowbound resort, including a big basalt fireplace in the lobby, another on the mezzanine and a grand wooden staircase between the two floors. There is even a carved totem pole. The tone is woodsy and down home.

    The Northwest lodge theme continues in the hotel's 121 rooms and 22 suites. Alpine Pendleton Woolen Mill spreads drape the beds, and furnishings are made of hickory and pine.
