I didn't actually go to the Telfair Museum on my recent trip to Savannah, but I went to their new addition: the Jepson Center for Modern Art. It was superb. The video installations were an experience that were alone worth the admission. Having recently taken my first college art class, too, I was well aware of the impressive collection of very famous artists housed there such as Andy Warhol, Richard Serra, Damien Hirst, and many others. Some of the installations were absolutely breathtaking and thought provoking. We had no idea how wonderful it would be because it does seem rather small from the outside. My one criticism was that they had books/products endorsing artists in the gift shop whose works they did not have: such as Kiki Smith.
