My family visited the Columbus Zoo this past summer, and I was amazed at what a beautiful zoo it is! There is a large variety of animals. My personal favorite was the baby elephant, and my daughter loved the orangutan. One was right up next to the glass, and he (or she?) and my daughter sat eye to eye for about 15 minutes. It made me wonder who was watching who? The exhibits are large, and well maintained. There are hoses throughout the park letting out fine mists of water, which is great for the kids to pause and play in. Another feature which really impressed me is that there are actually hand washing statements outside of the petting areas, with soap, water, and santizing gel. Jack Hanna has done an excellent job with the zoo!
