The Real Estate agent (Amanda) was curt and unprofessional to say the least. When left a deposit for one month's rent, the agent refused to give a receipt. They stated that "we don't give receipts" but offered to give me a photocopy of my check. And verbally confirmed the move in date and the apartment. 10 days later, when I called in to confirm my move in date, the same apartment was leased to someone else. Maxwell deposited my "deposit" check in their account (the one that I didn't have a receipt for) and refused to return the deposit. Left numerous messages for Nancy Alperin (apparently, she owns the company). Nancy failed to respond to my emails/phone calls. After retaining counsel and threatening a civil action, I was refunded my deposit. After the ordeal, I checked their BBB rating and they had three disputes logged in (August 2005). Please be very careful. If you choose to retain their services, please get "everything" in writing.
