The Virginia Living Museum offers a variety of activities that kids and parents alike will enjoy. Not only do they have information plastered all over the place, but there are also very knowledgeable employees located at several areas where they explain the who, what, where, when, and whys that inquiring kids want to know. The museum is hands-on with some displays so the kids are not bored just looking at things. They're very much involved by the time you walk through the entrance. The museum offers fish of sorts, insects, reptiles, and birds.
They also have a planetarium which is also great for little ones (and even adults). The kids enjoy this when we have field trips with their friends. It's another way to broaden your horizon.
They offer membership so the kids will be able to compare "how big the animals have gotten."
