I'm a little bit biased by the fact that I know most of the staff at Steep & Brew. That said, it's still my favorite coffee shop on State Street. I can't honestly say they offer anything in particular that you wouldn't find at Fair Trade or ERC or whatever. However, the atmosphere is nice, the clientele is colorful, and the staff (even the ones I don't know) is talkative and friendly. My drink is straight-up black coffee, so coffee houses have to win me based on quality of environment, not specialty drinks and etc. Steep & Brew definitely wins on that point.
