I first headed to Empire after a friend told me they had good food and free soup with lunch. While I didn't take advantage of that free soup (since I'm not particularly a soup kind of person), I did have a craving for Chinese food, though, and ventured out.
Ordered a small portion to go, and went back to my dorm to eat my meal. And was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, the serving extremely sufficient (in fact, I couldn't come close to finishing), and it cost me less than $5.00. You get your choice of rice with the meal, as well.
Now, I go there about once a week. The food is good and its affordable, which is extremely important for a broke college student like myself.
The only drawback that I can see is that they don't take credit cards, so you have to pay in cash. But that's easy to overlook.
