If you are sick of seeing the same items over and over at the supermarket, Rodman*s is sure to surprise you. They have a fantastic wine department and the downstairs carries a wide range of home goods (watch repair and an excellent pharmacy too). The real attraction, for me, is the dry goods aisles that are stocked with treats from all over the world. They have Polish sweets, Arabic spices and British brands that anyone who has grown up overseas will be delighted to find. The tea selection is also very good, lots of types of rooibos (red tea) I've not seen elsewhere. You can put together a nice party spread here that won't put a huge dent in your budget. They also have a wonderful global candy selection - you can get a serious marzipan fix here. Rodman*s goes all out for the holidays; this is THE place to put together a Christmas stocking or an Easter basket for your favorite foodie. Also, because they have many elderly customers, you can find some retro items in the grocery and personal care departments that no one else has (think badger brush shaving kits and ingredients you've never seen outside of Grandma's kitchen). There's free parking in the back, which is good because you'll want to browse longer than the meter will let you.
