Apartment People offers a free service to help you find an apartment. They then charge one or two months rent to the landlord of the property that you choose to rent. I 've had some awful experiences here and will never recommend them to anyone. Yes, they seems helpful at first. However, they work on commission and are trained to close on the first day so they really don't want to give you time to decide. They told my roomie and I that the landlord was flexible with the cost on the rent and that we may get a month free. However, their minds changed the next day when we came back to sign. They like it if you are slightly indecisive because they can then easily persuade you. You are more likely to get rent deals if you go directly through a landlord. If you are pressed for time and need to use a service- go to Apt Finders on Belmont.. 906 w Belmont and ask for Warren. They are definitely more honest and interested in helping you
