If you are in the King of Prussia area, Valley Forge National Historical Park is not too far away for a wonderful escape. The park is large enough that it rarely seems too crowded. Stop in the visitors center first for some history, then take the tour of the park, learning about Washington's troops and their cabins and movements in the park. There are plenty of picnic, kite-flying, jogging, hiking, and biking areas and trails. The area is beautiful and the history behind it is wonderful.
