Valley Forge National Historical Park is a large tourist draw for Southeastern PA, but it's so much more than that. Not only can you go there to learn about the fascinating history of the American Revolution, but locals enjoy using the park for themselves. Biking, running, picnicking, all while taking in the gorgeous hills and trees of Valley Forge.
The park is open from dawn to dusk as are most parks. Acres upon acres are available for you to run, fly kites, have a romantic picnic - whatever your heart's desire. Take pictures of the deer herds that call the park their home.
The history is also a must see. You can actually go in the huts made by American soldiers during their winter stay hundreds of years ago. Take a car tour thorugh the park to view the monuments of the states that particpated in the war. You don't want to miss this piece of history!
