Wow! So much to do 1/15/2006

The Valley Forge National Historical Park has so much to do at all times of year. When the weather is nice you have your choice, use their miles of paved trails, hike through the woods, visit the encampment sites, find the different memorials located throughout the park. In the winter, you can bring your sled and race down one of the many hills. This is a huge park with lots of different parts to visit. The park is very well kept with an informative and helpful visitors center. more

Wonderful open land in a developed area 12/28/2005

If you are in the King of Prussia area, Valley Forge National Historical Park is not too far away for a wonderful escape. The park is large enough that it rarely seems too crowded. Stop in the visitors center first for some history, then take the tour of the park, learning about Washington's troops and their cabins and movements in the park. There are plenty of picnic, kite-flying, jogging, hiking, and biking areas and trails. The area is beautiful and the history behind it is wonderful. more

Favorite park 8/24/2005

This is my favorite park ever. They have miles of walking and biking paths, through very scenic landscape. There are picnic areas to stop and rest. I took one of the full paths several times which was about 6 miles, but they also have several places where you can loop around and take shortcuts. There are a lot of neat historical attractions such as remakes of the cabins where Washington's troops stayed, along with statues and monuments regarding their cause. more

A Gorgeous Park and A Part of History 8/20/2005

Valley Forge National Historical Park is a large tourist draw for Southeastern PA, but it's so much more than that. Not only can you go there to learn about the fascinating history of the American Revolution, but locals enjoy using the park for themselves. Biking, running, picnicking, all while taking in the gorgeous hills and trees of Valley Forge. The park is open from dawn to dusk as are most parks. Acres upon acres are available for you to run, fly kites, have a romantic picnic - whatever your heart's desire. Take pictures of the deer herds that call the park their home. The history is also a must see. You can actually go in the huts made by American soldiers during their winter stay hundreds of years ago. Take a car tour thorugh the park to view the monuments of the states that particpated in the war. You don't want to miss this piece of history! more
