I bought a vent-free gas fireplace in Nov. 2009 and it hasn't worked correctly. It's noisy and it sets off the smoke detectors emitting quite a strong odor. In early November, 2010, I requested a service call to see if anything can be done. It's January and I'm still waiting to hear from them. This has not been a good experience. My in-person complaints have been met witih rudeness and threats of charges.
