This is the historic home where the Little House books were written. The museum contains artifacts, family photographs, Lauras handwritten manuscripts, and other items of interest. The gift shop is a must for big "Little House" fans as it contains books and other gifts and trinkets that are really unique. It is located about an hour from Springfield, but worth the drive.
It does cost some money though and you will fork over around $10 a ticket for an adult.
