As on other review sites about Neerings Plumbing there are numerous 5 star reviews here that are fakes---35 to be exact. HappyC has 31, and AnonymousU has 4. That leaves only 4 reviews that are positive and 4 that are very negative from real people who have used Neerings Plumbing.
My experience like so many others is that they charged an exorbitant price for a 2 hour routine job---$700 to be exact to install a $330 water heater.
Part of the deceptive sales tactics used by this company is to give a "bundled estimate" where the cost of the product is not broken down. In my case they informed my wife that to replace our 40 gallon water heater with a Bradford White model would be $1033. If that meant that they were going to install the $700 model for a $330 installation charge, it would have been fair and reasonable. Instead they charged us $700 for a two hour installation of a $330 (retail) water heater.
I checked and the going rate to install a water heater with our set up in our area is $200 - $300 total, not $700. In my opinion Neerings Plumbing charges exorbitant prices and is deceptive in the manner they do business.
Why, for instance, don't they give a parts and labor estimate up front and write that on the repair receipt if not to conceal the way they inflate their labor costs? Also, why are there so many fake and bogus 5 star reviews of their company on all of these sites? Is it possible that Neerings Plumbing pays a service to write these phony positive reviews to offset the negative ones they get from real customers? Who knows?
To their credit they have experienced service people and know what they are doing, but there are many local plumbing companies who will do just as good a job at 1/2 to 1/3 the exorbitant prices Neerings Plumbing charges. I feel as if Troy Neering the company president just picked my pocket of the extra $500 they charged beyond what a fair and reasonable price would have been.
Call Neerings Plumbing only if you have money to burn and want to be fleeced.
