Known for the peaches and other wonderful crops that include blackberries, strawberries, plums, tomatoes, apples, pecans and grapes as well as a variety of vegetables, plus honey from area apiaries agriculture put the small town on the map many years ago.
Being such a great area to produce grapes has recently developed a growing wine industry, with nine wineries a short drive from downtown Fredericksburg. Wine and Texan hospitality are quickly putting the city on the national map.
