f you don’t speak German, that’s “Welcome”, to Fredericksburg in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. They have been blending German heritage and Texan hospitality for over 150 years and have created a place you will want to discover. Known for the peaches and other wonderful crops that include blackberries, strawberries, plums, tomatoes, apples, pecans and grapes as well as a variety of vegetables, plus honey from area apiaries agriculture put the small town on the map many years ago. Being such a great area to produce grapes has recently developed a growing wine industry, with nine wineries a short drive from downtown Fredericksburg. Wine and Texan hospitality are quickly putting the city on the national map.
