The Dekalb Farmer's Market's name is a bit of a misnomer, because it's not an outdoor, local produce market like the name implies. It's in a massive warehouse on the outskirts of Decatur which doesn't waste time worrying about refrigerators. Instead, the whole building is kept at ice box temperature. The store is similar to some of the chic organic grocery stores, like Whole Foods. But the Dekalb Farmer's Market doesn't waste time with chic, it just focuses on quality and price. It has a huge organic selection of fruits and vegetables and the best cooking materials for any kind of food. Its spices are sold in large containers and cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. The only drawback to the Market is that folks come from all over the area, and on the weekend it's a bit of a madhouse. Come early or come late.
