The University of Pittsburgh bookstore in Oakland goes beyond serving students textbooks; rather it's a pretty decent bookstore.
They do allocate a lot of shelf space to technical topics (computers & sciences), but there is a decent selection of fiction and non-fiction as well.
Downstairs you can find textbooks, which non-students are not supposed to buy but you still can.
Students from other institutions (colleges or high schools) that show ID can even purchase education versions of software.
