A ferry ride anywhere in this area is like a mini vacation. You don't even have to take your car. Just hop on, ride to Bainbridge and ride back for less than ten dollars. If you do it at sunset and don't look at the city you can almost forget where you are. Anyway, for those of you who have never taken ferry ride in Puget sound you are really missing out. You can travel from Seattle to the peninsula or drive up and take a ferry to Whidbey Island or any of the San Juan's. A ferry ride has many uses, it can be perfect for transportation, a date, existential contemplation, etc. Just don't forget the to get a cup of hop chocolate out of the machine. For some strange reason it tastes just as perfect as the view.
