I spoke with the receptionist today concerning my next appointment. Instead of having a crown, done I wish to have the tooth extracted. My concern was cost. I was very surprised to learn, after my root canal, that I was charged $982, and that the next appointment for the crown ($1000) and "build up" ($371 ) would be almost $2300. I am not prepared to spend that on one tooth. I understand the extraction would be between two and three hundred dollars. I wish I had known all these facts prior to the root canal. Prehaps there should be a different price schedule for the uninsured, but I believe that would be impractical.
