My family and I went on this tour a couple of months ago. It's a nice day trip in the summer because it's much cooler in the mines. First, they bring you down a few hundred feet underground through the mine shaft in a small, but not too cramped box car. Then they lead you through some of the old mines on a tour, explaining the history of how the mining was done and a little about the workers. It lasts about a half hour. They have a neat gift shop here with jewelry and souveniers. A picnic area is also nearby for afternoon lunch. This is a nice experience for all age groups.
