To be honest, I've never retained his services. It never got that far.
A couple years ago I needed to retain an attorney for my father for a personal injury case against a business. Not knowing any lawyers personally, I did what anyone would and looked through the yellow pages. I came across his name--because of a television ad, I knew it--and called.
He answered the phone and I started to tell him what I needed. Before I got into the long story, I told him what entity I was seeking damages from. He let me tell my entire story before he told me that he once represented that entity and there would be a "conflict of interest" on his part. I think he was just curious (because I called a couple other attorneys but they told me right away that they weren't interested) and/or he was going to give the entity a "heads up". Either way, I thought it was a little back-handed on his part.
Now whenever I see an advertisement for his services, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
