I took this tour a couple of years ago and I enjoyed it. They take you down into the coal mines in a small box-car like tram for a tour. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is claustrophobic. They guide you in a tour through some of the mazes of the old mine and give you a lot of the history of the workers and the site itself. I found the explanation of the safety precautions the most interesting, such as the canary signaling oxygen was running out. Also, there are lots of huge wooden beams, but they weren't meant for a support structure. When you here them splitting, it is explained you knew you didn't have long to get out. Over all this was a very educational experience, and it was only around $5 per person.
