As with any medical professional, you must always be your own best advocate, that goes for vets too. Six months ago my top winning show/agility dog ruptured a disc and immediately was paralyzed from the neck down. He was rushed to Oradell. The front desk failed miserably to listen to me that the situation was critical and grave, and that he needed to see a veterinarian and get the MRI immediately (ruptured discs cause spinal cord compression, time is critical in this injury). The very cold triage nurse stuck me in a room and made us wait for 40 minutes while my boy was becoing totally paralyzed. Soon I had to begin SCREAMING at the top of my lungs for a vet to come see my dog immediately that this was not acceptable and that they would pay dearly!! My voice rang through the halls and scared the Sh*t out of everyone and I didn't care. So the vet finally came in response and once she saw him, agreed that he immediately needed an MRI and the MRI confirmed a ruptured disc. Emergen
