I found Golden State Garage Doors by luck. I had a spring break on my garage door, so I called a few competitors for an estimate. I found them in the phone book or from flyers that had been delivered in the mail. The competitors were very vague about the pricing. I just wanted a ballpark estimate, but they said they'd have to send someone out too look at the door. If I didn't use their service, I'd be charged $50 just to get an estimate.
By chance, I was driving by Golden State Garage Doors and decided to walk in and talk to their staff. I believe the person I spoke with was Theresa, and she was very open and friendly. They gave me a roundabout price and said that it shouldn't cost more than a certain amount. I also liked that they were a local, mom and pop business.
I decided to go with Golden State and I was extremely happy with them. The technician came out and had everything in his truck. They put their sticker on my door, which I usually don't like, but this time I welcomed it because of the good service that I got.
