I've been using Golden State Garage Doors for years and I trust them based on their reliable and excellent workmanship. Everyone on the staff is very responsive and takes just enough time to resolve things whenever we give them a ring. The prices are fair and I have no complaints. I'll definitely continue to use them. more

Golden State Garage Door replaced two springs in my overhead door because it wasn't working properly. The arrived on time and they were prompt in their work. However, they didn't give me an estimate up front and when it came time to pay, I felt that I was overcharged. RESPONSE FROM Golden State Garage Doors: We value your review and opinion. We did come out on an emergency service call on Saturday since your car was stuck in the garage. If we had come out on a regular business day (Monday-Friday), the charge would have been a little less. However, the company charges more for a service call after hours or on weekends to compensate for the overtime pay. I had a problem with my garage door that needed to be diagnosed first, and Golden State Garage Doors came out to look at it. I think they installed the doors about seven years before. The guy knew what it was, and he was able to fix it in about 45 minutes. They provided a good diagnoses and a quick resolution to the problem. more

I have Golden State Garage Doors come out once a year to oil the chain of the garage doors. Their sticker is right outside the door so I never lose them--I always get them back. I like that they don't leave things dripping, are very efficient, and on time. more

The first time Golden State Garage Doors was here, they were until we discovered that my area had a unique problem with a Navy base nearby so they had to come back. But they fixed it at no extra charge. more

The gentleman that came out on behalf of Golden State Garage Doors was so helpful. Our door would open. He came out and explained everything to us. He cleaned up and had it fixed very quickly. He even put a new sticker on it for us. We called them because they were the ones to install the door originally. We are very happy with them. more

I found Golden State Garage Doors by luck. I had a spring break on my garage door, so I called a few competitors for an estimate. I found them in the phone book or from flyers that had been delivered in the mail. The competitors were very vague about the pricing. I just wanted a ballpark estimate, but they said they'd have to send someone out too look at the door. If I didn't use their service, I'd be charged $50 just to get an estimate. By chance, I was driving by Golden State Garage Doors and decided to walk in and talk to their staff. I believe the person I spoke with was Theresa, and she was very open and friendly. They gave me a roundabout price and said that it shouldn't cost more than a certain amount. I also liked that they were a local, mom and pop business. I decided to go with Golden State and I was extremely happy with them. The technician came out and had everything in his truck. They put their sticker on my door, which I usually don't like, but this time I welcomed it because of the good service that I got. more

My garage door stopped working so I called up Golden State Garage Doors. It's the second time I've used them. I made the arrangements but I wasn't even on site during the installation to supervise, my son was, and it still went great. They troubleshooted the problem, did an alignment and lubrication. When I came home the guy was done, the garage door was working, and everything was nice and quiet. The prices were reasonable. more

Golden State installed our garage doors. Over the weekend the spring broke (totally inconvenient!). I called them Monday morning, they were out by early afternoon. No brainer. Friendly, polite, fair prices. Will call them next time I need help more

Golden State Garage Doors replaced the spring system on a garage door for me. I had two other jobs but wanted to see how good they were before I gave them the other two. I was very pleased with the technician that they sent out. He was timely and efficient. I had him complete the two other jobs for me as well. Everything was done satisfactory and I would call them again in the future! more

I had an okay experience with Golden State Garage Doors. They sold me a door for my garage, but because it was a new kind, he had to come back again because he didn't know how to install the remote function for the car entrance. At the end, the garage turned out okay. more

Golden State Garage Doors took and existing opening of a garage that was converted into a family room and hung an overhead door. We converted it back into a garage. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up perfectly after they left. The guys were good humored and very friendly. I would use them again. I have nothing but positive things to say about them! more

The installation crew was on time, courteous and made quick work of installing the new opener. There were two items that I think could have been done differently that would have caused me to rate the Total Experience 5 Stars instead of 4. First Issue...when the crew finished the opener installation, I noticed the opener was plugged into one of my extension cords. When I asked about it, I was told the cord from the opener would not reach the closest outlet. I feel the crew should have immediately pointed this out to me, not make me have to ask why it was configured in this manner. Also, not your issue...but the documentation for the opener says you need an electrical outlet within 6' of the open...turns out that means 6' from the top of the opener. My electrical outlet was within 6' of the bottom of the opener, but not the top...facilitating the requirement for the extension cord. I moved the outlet after the crew left to remove the extension cord requirement...I just wish they would have pointed out to me. Second Issue...I found a few threaded bolts on my garage floor after the crew left. I feel they could have, or should have swept up any and all pieces leftover from the install. Again...I am very happy with the overall job the installation crew did, just think these little things make a difference in total customer service. more

I was very happy with Golden State Garage Doors. My garage door wasn't going down so he came and showed me the different things that needed to be tightened up and he did that. Then he showed me the different parts that needed to be lubricated, showed me how to do it every six months, and said that I could call them if I preferred them to do it. He was just very helpful. more

Golden State Garage Doors replaced a spring in one of our garage doors. The guy lubed up all of the rails and the gear on the door, too. Then he took a look at my other garage door and gave me some suggestions as far as what could be an issue. He gave me advice on what to replace. There was no upgrading, so that was good. more
