Boys' Latin a once all white boys school now admits non-whites since the change in the country's civil rights laws. Many of the supporters including past and current parents and alumni are quite wealthy and or well connected in the Baltimore area. There is a small core of teachers and administration personnel that have been there for many years. There is a larger pool of high turnover teachers and staff that revolves around that somewhat entrenched core. There are many volunteers that contribute to the ongoing activities. These volunteers typically leverage their access to the wealthy parents and alumni as a trade off for their time. It's a very interesting school with strengths and weaknesses like anywhere else. If you're considering this school for your son the reviews and recommendations of the wealthy and well connected will differ somewhat from the views of the not so wealthy and not so well connected.
