What a scam! 10/27/2014

I wish I could give this place zero stars! I wouldn't even take a go-cart here. My mother-in-law's vehicle broke down a couple of miles from the shop and my wife had it towed there, not knowing the area since we are from New Braunfels. It would have been less of a headache to push it all the way home! We dealt with Lionel. The car had a repair warranty and Lionel had all the documentation necessary to give us an estimate. He had contacted the warranty company and informed us that we would owe $630. This sounded fishy since it had only cost her $100 to replace the entire transmission last year, but she was stuck without a car so we had to okay the work being done. That was on a Wednesday. The next day, we called after my mother-in-law secured the money to arrange pick up and payment and were informed that the price was now over $900. Suddenly they had tacked on all these fees that they didn't tell us about the day before. Unfotunately we did not get the first quote in writing so there was no way to prove we were being scammed. The owner also refused to talk to us: we were told "he doesn't deal with customers". Eventually they told us that they wouldn't make us pay the tax (over $100), which is another indication that they were scamming us. When we finally did pick up the car, they hadn't even attached the plastic engine guard to the bottom bumper correctly and it fell off on the way home. Bottom line, they get you in with a low estimate, then jack up the price once the work is done. It is cheaper to pay the ransom to get your car back than it is to take them to court and they know it. If you have to go here, always get the estimate in writing, ESPECIALLY if you deal with Lionel. Stay as far away from this place as you can! more
