My father has been at Kensington Park since March and he is now healthier than he has been for several years! A large part of this is because the nursing staff works in close liaison with his doctors, meticulously monitoring his blood sugars to adjust his insulin optimally, and responding to any perceivable change in his health. They are very vigilant.
Whenever he develops any kind of health issue they notify the doctor and then always call me to let me know. I have learned that I can completely trust them for his care and also rely on them to refill his 20-some prescriptions whenever necessary!
The staff is very kind! They show a lot of respect to the residents and go out of their way to preserve their dignity. They keep the residents, for the most part, in the large activity rooms, where they can easily keep an eye on them.
There is usually soft music playing and sometimes there are group activities. I like that when my father needs to use the restroom they take him to his own private restroom, not a public restroom that everyone shares.
Although no place is always perfect, I will say that while at Kensington Park, when something about my dad’s care has needed to be tweaked, the staff has been very responsive. I have found in Kensington Park a homey, caring atmosphere and an attractive, clean, safe place for my dad. I can relax, knowing he is well cared for and well treated there.
