These people are nothing but scam artists looking for cash cows. Their wellness for the family facade is nothing but garbage in my opinion. Following my last adjustment there, I was in the worst shape of my life, had to cut back on the hours I work, which means I make significantly less money and pay for costly health coverage on top of my normal medical bills. If I had to do it all over again, I would have saved my thousands of dollars I spent at YFC and used that money toward massage and a vacation. Yes, I spent thousands of dollars over the course of 11 months. I have fibromyalgia, cancer and panic disorder. \r \r The adjustments seemed to help for about 6 months. I was instructed to be seen weekly for ""wellness care"". I started noticing that adjustments increased my pain and the number of out of the blue pulled muscles. In June, I woke up feeling like I had pulled a muscle. I called YFC because I had my weekly adjustment scheduled that day to inquire if it would potentially set off a fibromyalgia flare. I was told by Dr. Jessa that when she ""overdoes it"" when playing volleyball that adjustments make her feel better. She tried to sell me on using their fancy TENS unit but couldn't tell me why the TENS unit was so special. I use one every day and it is one of the best on the market, so I wasn't going to pay for what they call ""therapy"". I have a doctorate in biochemistry so I researched the TENS unit before investing. I went in for the adjustment, because I'd be charged $30 for a missed appointment, and I was told that my adjustment shouldn't cause me any pain, but there was something terribly off about the cervical spine adjustment and I felt it immediately. \r \r About 30 minutes following that adjustment, I was in level 9-10 pain and my typical localized pain had spread to most of my body. I had to miss work. I called YFC the next day and was told by Dr. Heather to visit my general practitioner. Of course they are not going to take responsibility for potentially causing a patient's nervous system to go into overdrive, which is what happened to me. \r \r I cancelled my monthly membership with YFC and when I spoke to Dr. Heather, she was sympathetic but the conversation quickly turned into a salesman scare tactic, which I found to be incredibly tacky and unprofessional. She said that I should get back on a wellness plan because the adjustments were helping me and it's so important to be adjusted given the chronic pain of fibromyalgia and my medical history. She wanted to know if I'd be interested in doing that anytime in the next few weeks. I did not want to argue with her on the phone as there was a family death the evening before and I had an important meeting that day, so I let her know she could call me in a month. \r \r Without the weekly adjustments, I am slowly feeling better. My body is surprisingly in alignment per both of my massage therapists. I have dumped the ""wellness care"" chiropractic money into massage therapy, particularly medical massage and NRT. \r \r I live a very healthy and clean lifestyle, I am not overweight and before all of this, I was high functioning considering my medical issues. I worked full time and exercised regularly. That last adjustment took that away from me. I feel stupid for ever believing that these people wanted to help me. \r \r The doctors at YFC either saw me as a cash cow or they are incompetent about treating patients with fibromyalgia and chronic pain. Either way, I don't want to be treated by these doctors again. I hesitated writing any reviews because the office is nice, the people are nice, but the business practices in my opinion are shady at best. Maybe my review will help others who are like me. I wish I had listened to my gut and avoided getting adjusted that day. I truly believe I'd be in a better place physically and mentally. \r \r Bottom line: Save the thousands of dollars and invest it elsewhere. more
