Horrible communication and book keeping. we lived on this property from Feb 2010-Feb 2013 in a two bedroom. The deposit we made with the first leasing company was not honored with the new leasing company, therefore we basically just freely gave away a 100 dollars. Then, when we decided not to renew our lease and moved out, we were charged exorbitant fees for resurfacing counter tops which were never even used except for decorative items. When I spoke with one of the managers, she cleared the charges and realized that whomever had done the write up originally, had not added correctly and was off by 120 dollars that I was being charged. I paid the new charges and had the manager sign off on my copy that I was squared away and owed nothing else. 4 months later I get a call from collections that Canyon Reserve has sent them information that I haven't paid 70 dollars. I have received no letters no bills since the one in March (the final one I paid) and the woman at the front office couldn't even tell me what the charge was for, there was no mention of what it was for. Now I have to take off work and drive over an hour (which I will obviously not be reimbursed for) and show them my signed form of where I am paid up as well as my copy of my cleared check all while my credit is being slammed. We were wonderful tenants, no complaints, always paid on time, left the apartment in normal wear and tear condition and this is the response.
