We are very disappointed with our first (and last) experience with Kennelwood and their boarding facilities. We recently moved to the area and were leaving to see family for Passover out of state. After searching online, I felt Kennelwood was the best option for our two dogs. I spoke to an Amanda when booking who was very helpful. I dropped the dogs off later that afternoon. Upon arriving, I was never greeted by anyone at the front desk other than a Jasmine who coldy asked what I was there for (as I am holding my two dogs by the leash). I never received a warm impression by any of the multiple employees walking around the lobby. Unfortunately we were leaving the next morning or I would have left with my dogs in tow on the spot based on the customer service this place clearly lacked. \r

I asked to see the boarding facilities where my dogs would be staying since it was my first time. Reluctantly I was shown. Simple runs which did not completely surprise me but they promised my dogs would have a blanket at night since I was told I was not allowed to bring their bedding or toys. I left praying my dogs would be okay when I saw them 4 days later. \r

I called the following afternoon to check on the pups. I was transferred by the front desk to the kennel. I sat on hold for 7 minutes before I hung up and called back. The same girl told me she would transfer again. I explained no one came to the phone from the kennel. Finally a Courtney picked up and asked who I was and what I was calling about. I told her again that I was checking to see how the dogs were doing. She had NO idea who my dogs were and instead of checking on them in person, she looked in a computer and read notes back to me!! Unbelievable. \r

I have never boarded my dogs at a facility that did not personally know who they had in their care. At pick up, my dogs were covered in urine and feces. I have read the reviews here and it seems this facility is known for its training and grooming and NOT it's boarding. I WARN anyone who is considering boarding their pets here. \r

I was a veterinary technician for 11 years including private practice, academia, and management of two animal hospitals. In some cases, the practices were equipped to board pets so I am fully aware of how a boarding facility should run. This is not it. Unfortunately my fiancé and I are new to St Louis and did not know any better. NEVER AGAIN!
