After reading other reviews, I was really nervous about our stay at The Melia. There was absolutely no need to be! On arrival we was greated by a very warm and friendly Barbara and the very charasmatic Jonathan who instantly made us feel welcome. We upgraded our room without any hassle and was told about all hotel amenities. Our room was clean, spacious and provided all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The view of the ATL skyline was amazing and provided a great backdrop for some lovely photos.\r
All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We didn't have a car to valet park, but the valet staff were always on hand to give us directions to places and a map of the Marta system.\r
Coming from South East London we had no problems with the location. It's surrounded by REAL downtown Atlanta life. If you prefer a more moddy coddled touristy environment then maybe this isn't the hotel for you! If you like to go to a place and experience the natives, be a part of the culture.. I strongly recommend this hotel!!\r
There some real nice places to eat and drink and it's a fab location for access to tourist attractions such as World of Coca-Cola, The Aquarium and CNN.\r
Little five points, Underground Atlanta and The Martin Luther King Jnr Memorial Site are a short train ride away, as are Perimeter and Lennox Malls.\r
Our trip to ATL was second to none and I'll definitely stay in The Melia on my return next Easter.
