The hotel had graciously offered us airport transfers and we were met personally by our sales rep, Vicky, who was waiting for us at our baggage claim. She checked on our group periodically throughout our stay and made sure that all of our needs were taken care of. Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by a lovely young man at the front desk by the name of Dominique. He had us checked in to our rooms in no time, and proved to be helpful and charming for our entire stay. I want to adopt him! On the opposite end of the front counter was Trevor, “Concierge Extraordinaire”! He has the answers to any questions you might have, and if he doesn’t, he’ll get them. Example: one of our attendees needed her outfit cleaned to wear to the meeting the next AM, and being unfamiliar with Atlanta, was concerned about where to take it to be assured that she would get it back in time the next day. Trevor walked to the dry cleaner, dropped it off, picked it up later and delivered it to her personally at our reception that evening. Talk about above and beyond! After checking in and getting settled we met with our conference coordinator, Monique. Initially, I had some concerns regarding our Banquet Event Order. Monique explained all of the items in question to me and assured me that all was as specified in our contract and would run smoothly. She was right. Sadly, there was an unexpected death in Monique’s family the next day and she had to return to her home town for a funeral. But before leaving, in the midst of a personal crisis, she came to us and told us who we could turn to for help should any problems arise. They didn’t. Again, I could go on and on about the staff, but there were simply too many to mention all by name. Let me just say, if you stay at the Melia Atlanta, you will be hard pressed to pass an employee without being offered a smile, a cheerful “hello,” and “have a nice day” and/or an offer to assist you in any way. more

We stayed on ""The Level"" which I recommend as there is a very nice lounge for guests on that floor where they offer a Continental breakfast and a nice happy hour with plenty of hot and cold appetizers and three drinks per person. We were especially impressed with Carlos, who works in the lounge and spent time conversing with us and talking about the hotel.\r \r We had dinner both nights at the Lobby Bar and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The flat bread pizza was wonderful and tapas the second night provided a very nice variety of flavors and tastes. We also had breakfast on our last day at the buffet which includes a variety of food as well as a great fresh omelet bar.\r \r The hotel is very conveniently located near restaurants like the famous Varsity, shops and plenty of tourist attractions. It's a beautiful, comfortable and very friendly hotel and I recommend it completely. more

We were in town for the weekend to see the Music Midtown Festival. The lobby was very nice when we first walked in, when we got to our room we were also more than impressed. The rooms were updated and clean. For $100 a night this place is great! It was 2 blocks from the Varsity & Georgia Tech and about a 10 min walk to the aquarium, Coke and the GA Dome. I will deff stay here again next time im in ATL. more

I can't say enough nice things about the staff. From the time we arrived and got a nice ""hello"" from the evening staff until we left and got a nice ""goodbye"" from the morning staff, my family was treated very well.\r \r I especially appreciated the respect and patience the staff showed my 87 year old mother, who has trouble walking but refuses help. We chose the hotel for its closeness to family, but it will be our go-to place in Atlanta on future trips. more

If you are traveling for business to Downtown/Midtown Atlanta, Melia is definitely the way to go. Close to America's Mart, where I was attending an expo, and a short block away from the nearest subway station.\r Exceptionally friendly staff, and Spanish tapas & live music on Fridays. Amazing view from my balcony, unbeatable rate and therefore value. more

The Melia has great features such as the location, bar, restaurant etc. The best feature by far however was Domenique. From the minute we stepped up to the counter to check in to our very last day of our stay he made us feel special and that our experience and business mattered. He was professional, pleasant and accomodating. If we return to this hotel it will be only because of him. more

We stayed here during the midtown music festival. The hotel was decently priced at 125 per night. The walk to Piedmont park was only about twenty minutes and there are a lot of restaurants and bars in the midtown area. This was the first hotel I've ever stayed at with a balcony. more

Our stay could not have been more perfect. You can choose to park your own vehicle or use the valet service which is a little pricier but very convenient. We walked into a gorgeous lobby where the staff was very friendly and welcoming, then went upstairs to our gorgeous room.\r \r Our room was so nice, I actually thought it had been renovated but found later that it had not. It was roomy with a very nice flat screen TV and the furnishings were all in perfect condition. The free wifi is a nice bonus and it was fairly fast as well. A balcony in a downtown hotel is unusual and it was nice to step out there and enjoy the incredible view of downtown Atlanta. more

Great Location, Great scenery (my room faced downtown), awesome hospitality, very good food (not the average Hotel food), employees were a big help and ready to assist with any of our needs. Overall a good experience. I would definitely stay at the Melia again. more

If you are planning a meeting in the near, or not so near future, do yourself a favor. Send an RFP to the Melia Hotel Atlanta. You’ll be doing yourself a GREAT disservice if you don’t. The kind demeanor and level of professionalism of the management and staff are unrivaled by any hotel I’ve done business with in the past. (And I’ve had some very good prior experiences.) You won’t be disappointed! more

Located right off the highway, this hotel is beautifully decorated and offers top-notch service. The bathtub did have some scratches and stains but you could tell it was clean. The view from the balcony is what completed the package. We loved our romantic escape and would recommend the hotel to our friends and family. more

After reading other reviews, I was really nervous about our stay at The Melia. There was absolutely no need to be! On arrival we was greated by a very warm and friendly Barbara and the very charasmatic Jonathan who instantly made us feel welcome. We upgraded our room without any hassle and was told about all hotel amenities. Our room was clean, spacious and provided all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The view of the ATL skyline was amazing and provided a great backdrop for some lovely photos.\r All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We didn't have a car to valet park, but the valet staff were always on hand to give us directions to places and a map of the Marta system.\r Coming from South East London we had no problems with the location. It's surrounded by REAL downtown Atlanta life. If you prefer a more moddy coddled touristy environment then maybe this isn't the hotel for you! If you like to go to a place and experience the natives, be a part of the culture.. I strongly recommend this hotel!!\r There some real nice places to eat and drink and it's a fab location for access to tourist attractions such as World of Coca-Cola, The Aquarium and CNN.\r Little five points, Underground Atlanta and The Martin Luther King Jnr Memorial Site are a short train ride away, as are Perimeter and Lennox Malls.\r Our trip to ATL was second to none and I'll definitely stay in The Melia on my return next Easter. more

This was the second attempt for wonderful visit to Atlanta. The last stay at this hotel was plagued with problems. The hotel offered to make it right with a free upgrade to the Concierge Floor with all of the amenities for this stay. This time we enjoyed the stay immensely. The service was excellent, the staff was great, the room had no problems. This was a complete turn around from the stay one month before. I will stay at this property again in the future. Thanks Melia for the offer to try your property again. Mr. LeBlanc, the Hotel Manager was the perfect host. He made himself available to great us and show off his property throughout the stay. more
