I've been to this eye doctor a few times now, only because of the insurance I carry. NEVER AGAIN. I went for a basic eye exam and contact lens fitting. This place is beyond overpriced, to buy ONE lens at this eye doctor is the cost of three PLUS the exam at another. Shame on me for just not paying out of pocket. \r

My biggest problem, however, was with Michelle, the woman in reception who lied to me at the day of my appointment telling me I ""must purchase the lenses through East Lake Eye Care."" When I pressed on why the day of the appointment, I was told that you can no longer purchase gas permeable lenses online and that another eye doctor would charge for a visit PLUS the purchase price. My own fault for believing her? Maybe, and the fact that I waited 40 minutes to be seen, another 30 for the appointment (with no dilation of my eyes) and another 10 in reception as she wrapped up my paperwork and made me pay 100% in full before they ordered the lenses. Late to a meeting was a bigger issue than overcharged and lied to at the time.\r

A few weeks later I need to pick up the lenses and schedule a follow up. After I'm done restarting my heart from the price-tag shock, I attempt to schedule a follow up appointment.... doctor's out of town. Back to the office to check my schedule and I call in to schedule WEEKS out, nothing available still. Finally, I give up because honestly I am so pissed at the place I steam when I think about it. \r

Cut to three months later, I hate my lenses, they don't fit well, I never wear them because of this and I call just to find out what's needed to replace or switch to soft lenses. I get Michelle again. SUPER. She's unpleasant.\r

After I'm given the shake down for hundreds of dollars for a new appointment, she keeps perpetuating the problem and continues to lie and tell me AGAIN that not only can't I get gas perm lenses online...I can't receive my own prescription. Aren't they my medical records? ""Well.... not really...."" REALLY??? Also, ""Well, there really is NO actual prescription until we order them, fit them, correct them, etc."" I asked how they actually order them if there is no prescription... lots of ""ummm, well's, soooo, ummmmmms."" It goes on and on, I tell her she keeps making it worse, and she does. I even go so far as to warn her that if it continues, I'll just listen intently and put negative reviews online - which is when she got got nasty and I got off the phone. BUT NOT BEFORE she offered one last time to have someone else call me to schedule an appointment THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR. \r
\r
I bid her good day.\r

Between my husband and myself, we must have given this place THOUSANDS of dollars over the years. I feel seriously violated. \r

Forget this place, I think Walmart must have better service... for sure better pricing.
