Present Student & struggling single parent 4/2/2012

I am currently an attending student at schilling douglas school for hair design & I have to agree with Jacki63. I am shocked at the bad reviews the school is getting. I am a single parent & have always dreamed of being a professional stylist & without schilling douglas that dream would not be possible. I absolutely love my school, my teachers, the administrative staff & (most of) the students. :) I went on a leave of absence for several months & while I was out I kept hearing girls in my class saying things like get out now, things are getting bad, so bad. But to my surprise, when I returned, things had actually gotten better! All the girls who had complained so much about the school ended up dropping out because they couldn't handle putting in a little effort & were not adjusting well to the change in the product line & the new curriculum. New Flash Girls! Things in this industry change! A lot! So don't bash the school because you did not give it your all. This is not an easy field to learn. There is a lot more that goes into it than meets the eye so unless you have the passion & the drive to put your best foot forward & never give up on yourself then I suggest you choose a different industry for your future career. The staff at this school have not given up on me or any other student for that matter since day one! They have helped me in more ways than I ever thought possible. I found myself & my passion for this with their help. I will admit that there are a few improvements that could be made but nothing is ever perfect. The teachers are here to not only help you get your license but to bring out your full potential as a stylist & help you continuously rediscover your passion for it....Since I started here I have seen a numerous number of students ""drop out"" because they were too lazy to put in the effort needed & they had one excuse after another. If this school was so bad do you honestly think that I would be wasting my time, my talent & my money for nothing? I mean come on people, my future, my family & my sanity are riding on this & I refuse to ever give up. They see my potential & they haven't given up hope even though I have struggled so much with my attendance, finding childcare & having no one to help me out financially. I can't rely on my daddy's money to buy my education since both of my parents passed away a long time ago. So think about what review you are going to believe. The review from the girl who never thought she stood a chance in this world. Or the review from the girl who most likely dropped out of school because she didn't have what it takes! I Love Schilling Douglas School for hair design! :) more
