I am a full-time student at this school and very disappointed with it. You would think for $13K (Mind you the program is only 11 months...) we would not only be taught the basics, but all the new hair cuts, trends, etc. for the modern times. The curriculum that we have could rival the curriculum of a school from the 1920s. The roller sets we learn and the hair styles that correspond with them are out-dated. The haircuts we learn are just as out dated... Think of a young Dorothy Hamill's harcut, and that is what we learn. Not only are we taught incorrectly, but the teachers themselves cannot even do what we are taught. We have one that cannot perform fingerwaves, which is praticed at least once a week; We have a teacher who did not know how to cut the "Radial" haircut (which for those of you who do not know, it is the basic long-layered haircut); Most of the teachers cannot even do acrylic nails. As for us students, we try to do the best we can under the cirrcumstances we are given. As for a teacher "watching our every move"- that cannot be farther from the truth. We usually have ONE teacher on the floor, and when it gets busy (which is mostly Tuesday through Saturday), if any of the students is at a loss during a service and we need to ask a question, either count on us to figure out what to do ourselves, or wait 15 minutes for a teacher to finally come over and answer our questions. If you ask, "Well $13K seems like it would buy you a excellent cosmetology education", if you don't know where it all goes, please don't forget to check out the 2 nice brand new Hummers the owners drive next time you come in for a service.
