I have taken my dog to the Animal Hospital of Carrboro for approximately 7 years. This morning my dog had gross amounts of blood in his stool. As this was an emergency, I did not have money in my checking account to cover the costs today; I needed to transfer from a brokerage account that I cannot access immediately and it takes 1 day to get the funds transferred. I was told that they would only see my dog if I paid cash at the time of service. I explained that my dog had blood in his stool and they agreed to see us.
When I arrived, I was told that my dog would not be seen without cash up front. I explained that I had been there for years and I had always paid them for their services.
MY DOG WAS DENIED CARE AND THEY REFUSED TO SEE HIM.
I understand that you have to pay for services, and I have always paid for services rendered. I was allowed to pay late at our last visit, which was not an emergent visit (and I was actually overcharged).
Bottom line -- these vets care more about money than about your pets.
