Damaged the wedding gown that I bought from them in Apr or May 2011. I didn't see anything I really loved, as I was leaving, owner Hattie brought me another dress. The dress was beautiful. BUT was a size 16 and I am a 0. She promised she could alter it to fit. I told her I wasn't sure because the dress was so big. Hattie assured me 3x this could be altered to my size and it would fit perfectly. Said if I purchased the gown in full it would include alterations, veil, and headpiece. I purchased the gown think I got a deal, RIGHT! NOT SO MUCH!!! I went back 4x from purchase date for alterations and the dress was not correct. In mid June, to the shop for a fitting and the bust was so big had me purchase extra push up cups for $20, knowing it would never fix the problem. In July, my family was here from Fl wanted to see my dress. The dress still didn?t fit wouldn?t close properly. Hattie said she needed to switch out the hooks and alter the front (as the size 16 breast is different than a size 0 cup) and charged me another $40. Back in August and early Sept (as the wedding was sched for sept 17) and it did NOT fit. I placed the wedding on hold for a severe illness. Jan 2012, I came to have my dress fitted again as the wedding was now March 3. Again, the same issues . The back didn?t close, the front cups that I paid to have altered twice were not fixed. Told me to come back the next week. I came back, Nothing had been done except the back strap was even smaller, the only piece that held up the dress and it didn't close. Scheduled to come back Feb 4th. Feb 4th, an employee spent over an hour in the room trying to get dress to fit. She said honey, ?this dress just doesn't fit, at least 2 inches has to be let out the back for it to close?. The front was not altered AGAIN!!! At this point, I Am really irritated and wanted to take the dress elsewhere and the owner would not give me the dress. Hattie said"" COME back on FEB 18th and I will see for myself if it actually fits"". Feb 18th, the dress did NOT fit. It was still 2 inches too short in the back. Said she would have to change out the hooks AGAIN!!! AND would alter the front. Sold me body tape and said I would need to use it to hold up my dress because it was too big, $12 charge. ""Come back on FEB 24th (one week before my wedding) and I promise YOUR DRESS WILL FIT"" On (FRI) Feb 24th, my dress DID NOT FIT. Nothing had been changed except new metal hooks. One week before my wedding, in tears and my dress doesn't fit so I took my dress off and walked. I took it to 3 alterations places to see if it could be fixed. Bridal mart said ""No, and she should have never tried to alter a size 16 to a size 0, it is impossible, anything over 2 sizes of your size should never be altered. She should have never SOLD you this dress."" They tried to help me find another dress and they didn?t have anything my size for such a close time frame. I took it to David's Bridal that said ""This dress is not fixable and should have never been altered to try and fit you, You are way too tiny."" I looked there from 3pm until 9pm trying on dresses. 9pm , bought a new dress. Called around charlotte too see if anyone could do my alterations, found ""Alterations by Christy"". Feb 25th, had a fitting for ?new? dress and brought the original dress. Christy told me ""There is no way this dress could be fixed and it will never fit you properly. Anything above a size 4 should have never even been sold to you as a dress 2 sizes above your size is the max to be altered without ruining it. A size 16 cup will never fit you and will always be big. This dress should have never been sold to you. I will help in whatever way I can. You really need to get all of your money back."" New dress was done Tues morning. Hattie had the nerve to tell me I was just a ""Picky Bride"" and refused to take responsibility that they could not get the dress to fit properly and even admitted it was just TOO big to alter.
