Horrible Service 3/15/2012

I have been around guns all my life. Growing up on the farm, serving 20 years in the military, having a husband and son who love to shoot. I don't shoot as often as they do - but I am not too shabby and can handle my own when it comes to guns. Recently my husband bought me a new .38 revolver and we decided to go to the range to shoot it. Boy was that a mistake. Never have I been met with anything less than professionalism and outstanding customer service - until I entered the A&P Arms in Lynnhaven. The young man behind the counter was rude and wasn't interested in helping anyone at all. My husband and I needed Range Safety Cards, as did one other young man who happen to be there at the same time. I have qualified on many different ranges over the years - but never was I treated like this. Believe me, I am all about safety. I do understand the importance of knowing the rules at the gun range. But the list of rules provided and the on the spot question and answer period are a joke. First they hand you a list of rules and regulations to read and sign. Then out of nowhere comes (as one gentleman mentioned earlier) a verbal battery of questions. He didn't even look at you when he asked - just stared off into space. If you said you didn't know - he would then stare at you, as if to say why are you wasting my time. Had I known that there would be a verbal assault of questions I would have studied a few days before attempting to shoot there. I have renewed my range safety card countless times and was never ""grilled"" with an oral exam or treated so poorly I will never go back and I would not recommend it to anyone who is interested in shooting. I recommend you take your business elsewhere. more
