Here's the deal, I just bought a home in Halls. We closed yesterday and today, I contacted these peeps so I could get the water turned on. They refused! Said that there was an outstanding debt of over $200 owed by the prior owners and if I wanted the water turned on, I'd either have to pay THEIR DEBT, or find them and compel them to pay it.
I purchased the property from HUD, who had foreclosed on deadbeat prior owners over a year ago. I don't even know their name and quite frankly could care less.
These people at Hallsdale-Powell Utility District are scumbags that are trying to hold me hostage. It's like the mafia.
What's worse, the attorney who handled the closing is acting like he knows nothing and can do nothing. limberdick.
Well, I guess I'll go cut their dam lock off myself
