My wife and I were driving south 15 hwy to spend the weekend at Mother’s\r
In L.A. Right after Baker, the rear passenger tire of my Dodge truck blowout. Aaahhggrr! Ok, so I called road side assistance. After an hour a guy claiming local showed up and changed my 20 inch tire for a used one. He charged me $150.00 total, for the tire and the service, telling me that both of the rear tires were bad. I kind of knew but after waiting for than 2hrs for the service, all we wanted is to be on our way.\r
But guess what, right before D St. exit, the same rear passenger tire started separating and a big chunk of tire went flying right behind us almost hitting the small vehicle driving behind my truck. I got off the freeway looking for a tire shop. I stopped at a place that did not have my size tire so they recommended a little place on Seventh Street called Mexican Tire.\r
I googled it and drove over to this small pops and moms shop. It looked so small I thought they will not have my tire size either. I walked in, told them I needed 2 tires. They asked me if I’d like the “newer” used tires or the brand new ones. Whatta H….l!! Who would of thought. I went for the newer used ones with only 500 miles on them. The total for the 4 matching Pirelli Scorpion ATR 275-55ZR20 tires, with balancing, installation and whatever else they do, was $400.00 out the door. My wife and I were ready to spent $900.00 to $1,000.00 for a set of new ones but when I saw the great quality of these tires, even my wife agreed that it was a sweet deal. \r
I felt great knowing what a great deal we got on these tires.\r
The guys were friendly and one of them spoke English very well (not to be racist, but it helps, really). The two younger guys took off my tires out, the new ones on my rims, and we were out in NO TIME!\r
The also made me aware that the tire I had jus paid $150.00 for, it was recapped. I was astonish and upset. The tire looked good and it end it up being a piece of crap. It’s scary to know that some people would put lives in danger for a couple of bucks. What an as…le!!\r
I TOTALLY recommend these guy at Mexican Tire, they straight up, no frills people. Be sure to tip the kids that are putting the tires on though.\r
They are working HARD for the money. Keep it up guys!!
