My friend has been going to the Angry Chair for years and always told me I should check it out. I finally went last night and had Dave as my artist. He was super nice the second I walked in the door. I gave him an incredibly vague idea of what I was looking for. I think I said, ""I need something that's moderately professional for work, and I saw a short-ish long-ish cut online that I liked (I provided NO photo)"". I didn't really give him anything else to go on. He asked some questions about me, what I do, what I like, etc? I've had black hair and Bettie Paige bangs for about ten years. My husband wanted me to go black and fire-engine red... when I mentioned that to Dave he said, ""you know I'm not really feeling that... that's been you for forever... let's do something that makes people say 'oh wow, that's awesome'... let's make a 'new you'."" I have to point out that it?s really awesome that Dave LISTENED to me blabbing on about myself. He based his idea for my hair on the things I told him about my personal life. That?s not something I?ve EVER experienced anywhere else. Dave listened to music and rocked out hard-core while doing ?his thing?. He kept looking at me from different angles to make my cut something unique? and perfect. I told him at one point he was too hard on himself because he seemed to never be satisfied with what he had done. That kind of personal and work ethic is NOT something that you come by very often in today?s society. I was there for four hours. Dave gave me an amazing cut that frames my face in a really flattering way. I look WAY younger than my age (28), which surprises me every time I look in the mirror. He also took my ?usually dark hair? in a different direction. With his creative freedom, he turned a boring, bland, overly thick and damaged disaster into? well into a work of art. He used over 20 alternating layers of black, fire-engine red, and blonde all over and gave me depth and volume but without needing to use ANY product. My hair looks EXACTLY the way I always used to try to get it to look via styling? (with bump-it?s and AquaNet and clips?) but on its own: because of the cut. The Angry Chair is absolutely somewhere I would recommend to ANYONE who wants to have a great experience. The customer service is outstanding. The talent is unbelievable. And at the end of my four hours, the price is what amazed me the most. I went there expecting to spend some VERY serious money, especially after spending four hours there and seeing the final product. When Dave told me what he was going to charge me, I honestly was dumbfounded. He seriously undercharged me for the services rendered. Thanks SO much Dave. You can ABSOLUTELY count on seeing me again. :)
