BEWARE!!!...I am very much a DIYer but ran across a water heater that I didn?t know much about. I contacted the manufacturer and they helped me with performing some maintenance on the water heater to see if that would correct the problem. That didn?t so I called our home warranty, ?American Home? (rating:fair) and they sent out WILL FIX IT. I thought cool, a professional company. The guy walked into my garage and asked why it was unplugged, uh, hello...it isn?t working and then he asked what I did to it. I told him about the maintenance I did and he since I did that, the water heater was not covered under insurance. To make matters worse, in his report to the insurance company he said the water heater was taken apart and also it failed because of improper install. The guy never came within 10 feet of my heater! I wish I had my video camera out! Besides, how can you say it was an improper install if it?s apart and without even touching it? What an oxymoron! He did say that he had a replacement water heater that he could install for $950 bucks! How convenient! Just happen to be the exact same kind that I needed! I thought they would be a professional company. Maybe a moral company is what I would appreciate so BUYER BEWARE. Take a look on craigslist or find a reference and find a better company. It maybe a mom & pop company but that?s where most of us got our morals from and that?s what this country was built on!
