THIS PLACE ALMOST MADE ME DIE! 9/27/2011

I feel the need to tell about a degrading incodent that occured yesterday. I had a very severe alleric reation after accidently eating peas (so severe that I could actually die). My husband, Joe came home from work to take me to INDEPENCE URGENT CARE in Independence, KY. The office fee was $95...sure, we'll pay that (no insurance).... I was barely breathing at the time. They made Joe leave me in the waiting room-NOT BREATHING and scared - to go to the bank to get the $95. They called me up to the desk and asked for the $95 AGAIN when he was already on his way to the bank! After 12 MINUTES, some one finally asked me if I was having difficulty breathing. I whispered yes, shaking my head, barely breathing. (My oxygen level was 66%) The doctor saw me right away and shot me with an epipen. Joe had returned by then but they were literally holding the shot of steriods in their hands until we paid the $210 for the shots. I understand they have issues not collecting money from patients - not my problem. Joe (who is a ... a degrading incodent that occured yesterday. I understand they have issues not collecting money from patients - not my problem. Joe (who is a teacher with low income) asked if we could do some sort of a payment plan. The nurse became extremely rude saying they just can't do it. Finally after a few minutes, the doctor said, ""get what you can from them and we will bill the rest."" This place is only in it for the money and don't give a sh*t about people. Thankfully, I am alive to write this review and to be here for my husband and 3 beautiful children. I HOPE SOMEONE THAT HAS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE DOESN'T GO TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE! more
