Independence Urgent Care

Been to some really bad urgent care clinics with some really awfu docotrs and nurses. This one is totally different. I don;t have insurance and they charged me $139 for my exam and chest xray. That was the best price I have found. Dr. Bell was really nice and understood my problem. If you can pay and don;t have isnurance this is the place because they treat you good and this is a high class place, really nice and clean. Real nice people. more

The building was clean, convenient, and close to my work. I feel the communication between a doctor and his/her patient is very important. I had extreme difficulty understanding the doctors that work here. I have been there twice and have seen two different doctors of the same cultural background. Both were presentable, however, their use of our English language was jagged, inerrupted, and incorrect. When I asked one of the doctors to repeat what he had just said, he looked at me blankly and walked out of the room. This will be the last time I go there only to seek a physician that can communicate like an american. Incidentally, the first review of praise seems to be from someone affiliated with the urgent care because they were quick to defend against the second (honest and truthful) review. I have visited Urgent Care several times but most recently for my daughter running a fever and received wonder care. They relieved her fears and made her feel very comfortable in diagnosing her virus without being too invasive. The staff was very professional and compassionate. My pediatrician's office was closed and it was a blessing to have her seen without having to wait hours in the emergency room and having to pay a huge deductible. I feel the need to tell about a degrading incodent that occured yesterday. I had a very severe alleric reation after accidently eating peas (so severe that I could actually die). My husband, Joe came home from work to take me to INDEPENCE URGENT CARE in Independence, KY. The office fee was $95...sure, we'll pay that (no insurance).... I was barely breathing at the time. They made Joe leave me in the waiting room-NOT BREATHING and scared - to go to the bank to get the $95. They called me up to the desk and asked for the $95 AGAIN when he was already on his way to the bank! After 12 MINUTES, some one finally asked me if I was having difficulty breathing. I whispered yes, shaking my head, barely breathing. (My oxygen level was 66%) The doctor saw me right away and shot me with an epipen. Joe had returned by then but they were literally holding the shot of steriods in their hands until we paid the $210 for the shots. The nurse became extremely rude saying they just can't do it. Finally after a few minutes, the doctor said, ""get what you can from them and we will bill the rest."" This place is only in it for the money and don't give a sh*t about people. Thankfully, I am alive to write this review and to be here for my husband and 3 beautiful children. I HOPE SOMEONE THAT HAS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE DOESN'T GO TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE! more
