My husband and I were kind of trapped into going to Sharky's because it was the only local place open on a Sunday. I had been craving raw oysters for quite some time so I was looking forward to having seafood.\r
We walked in at a little after 3 and NO ONE was in there. No one. I said hello a few times and no one emerged from the back. The waitress who was coming in to start her shift ended up seating us and being our waitress. \r
My husband and I sort of made up our meal -- he got the fried catfish, a crab cake, and potato skins while I got a half-dozen raw oysters, a cup of the she-crab soup, and a baked sweet potato.\r
The oysters were served with crackers, lemon, cocktail sauce, and some sort of oil. At first I thought it was butter but it looked too dark. I tried a little on my fork and it tasted like old deep fryer oil -- disgusting. \r
When I tried my husband's crab cake, I could still taste that old fry oil on the cake and didn't think it was very good but he liked it. His catfish was outstanding, though -- fully cooked, not soggy on the inside, and not too dark either. It was beautiful. \r
The she-crab soup was also great. It was way thicker than I thought it would be and had a great flavor. \r
Their beer selection is pitiful -- the darkest thing they had was Yuengling. \r
