They charged me $442 to replace a capacitor. It turns out that this is an $85 part that everyone else charges $185 to replace (Basically $99 service call plus part cost) Huge rip off compared to other companies.
RESPONSE FROM Cogburn's Service General:
I understand how Mrs. Hoisington feels. Especially in this economy. I did discover that to most companies this would have been an after hours call. We carry two options for this repair a 1yr warranty and a 5yr warranty. I made a few phone calls and found out that the average repair cost for the 1yr repair was $311.92 our 1yr repair is $289. Mrs. Hoisington opted for the 5yr repair warranty at $442. Capacitor failures can cause expensive motor failures. The better component is always the better option. If this capacitor fails within 5yrs I feel Mrs. Hoisington will say to herself, "I made the right decision."
